So far, I have one box packed. Which probably seems like a cry for help/panic moment for a lot of you, but I'm actually feeling good. I'm not going to lie, moving can be stressful. I don't like change in general, but I am also a sucker for nostalgia. I will miss the days of being a basement dweller, of working hard to find our first apartment. I am looking forward to having a fireplace and a bathtub in our new house. I will miss our gigantic shower and pitch black bedroom. I am excited to have more than three windows and lights in every room. There are so many fond memories that have been made in our basement, but I am so excited to make new memories in our new home.
Here are some things I've discovered during this moving process:
1) Leases are scary.
2) Chips, salsa, and queso is a perfectly acceptable meal occasionally.
3) Naps are a gift from God.
4) You should probably color code everything in your life.
5) Boxes cannot be a perfect cube. Look it up.
6) Music and podcasts really help calm me down.
7) Don't try and pack everything in a day.
8) Moving is the perfect time to sort through things and give stuff away.
9) Trash bags are really expensive.
10) Make sure you have toilet paper at the new house early in the move.
11) I have really nice friends and family.
12) Moving can be very exciting, but it is okay to also find it scary and intimidating.
13) Take breaks often.
14) It is okay to ask for help, even if it is help in the form of a hug.
15) God provides things in His timing, and it is always better than our own timing.
I'll be sharing some more moving updates in the next few weeks, as well as a pregnancy update, and a 1 year anniversary post soon! I'd love to read so funny moving stories, so please share them here or on Facebook.
