So that is my history of gardening, over the last probably 5-10 years we have not gardened, eventually the wood that surrounded our gardening plots rotted and we had to remove them and dig up the plots. But that is no more. Recently, a few of my friends were talking about preparing their gardens and about last years crops, and I got to thinking, why don't I start a garden again this year? Let me be clear, I am not a gardener, I do not have the knowledge and probably not any of the skill, but I like to garden. It takes time, which I have very little of, and it takes patience, which I have even smaller amounts of. So why on earth am I getting myself into this? I have no idea, except I love a challenge, and I thrive on competition, so I am competing against myself to conquer this. Not to mention it is on my bucket list to start a garden. So here is where I need all of your help. I have been doing research on the computer on what kind of soil, what to plant when, and where, and so on, but there is no better teacher than experience. So any of you that have gardening experience (especially in GA), I would love to know your tips and tricks, what works and what doesn't, anything you can think of! I will update everyone on this and share with you my process and experiences as I grow. So now I challenge you to start a garden, whether it is one plant, or 50, we could all do that, a collaborative garden!
Fun Facts:
1. My favorite thing to grow as a kid was tomatoes, because homegrown tomato sandwiches are my favorite.
2. My favorite thing to get at Cici's was the chocolate pizza, the pasta, and the mac and cheese pizza.
3. My sisters and I once got grounded for hiking too far in the woods. My mom called the cops. We spent three days in our rooms. It was terrible. We laugh about it now. :)
