CHALLENGE: Create a list. 5 things you hope to accomplish during 2014. But do not list anything that would be focused on your past failures. This will be hard. It will not be easy, but it will be fun! It will challenge you to ask God what He might have for you this year, and it will make you focus on positive things.
So what are my real resolutions? What am I determined to do this year? What are the non-negative things I want to accomplish?
1) I am determined to visit at least 2 new places. For those of you who do not know, I have been to South Africa once, Guatemala 3 times, and the Dominican Republic once. I have also traveled to many states in the US. So this year I want to be intentional and determined to visit two new places, they can either be countries or states, but they must be places I have never gone before.
2) I am determined to memorize a book of the Bible. I have not decided which book as of yet, but I want to work daily on memorizing an entire book of the Bible. No, I will not cheat myself and chose something small like Obadiah, I will challenge myself. I would love if you would all help keep me accountable with this. I will let you all know soon which book.
3) I am determined to write and complete at least 10 new songs. These can either be collaborations or ones I write alone, but I must be a part of writing at least 10. Up to this point, I have fully completed 6ish.
4) I am determined to give at least 5 pieces of art away to people. This can be done in many ways. It could be a piece that contains a message I feel like the person needs to hear. It could be a gift. It could be a piece that I think they will simply enjoy. There are no real limits to this, other than that it must be a least 5 different pieces to 5 different people.
5) I am determined to be intentional about being an encourager. I have discovered that the people I admire and respect the most are often the people who are encouraging and kind. I have also realized I struggle in these area with most people. I believe that this is an area in which God desires I grow in, and so I am admitting it to all of you so that you can hold me accountable.
I have chosen these five. I may choose more, but I wanted to make sure that the determinations I chose were attainable and realistic. There are so many things I would like to do this year, but I want to make sure all of those things are also things that God wants me to do. I encourage you all to accept the challenge and make out your own lists. I would love to hear them/see them, so please comment them, message me them on facebook, email me, ect. whatever is easiest for you. I would love to help you all stay accountable to your determinations. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Fun Facts:
1) I do not have anything to do on New Years Eve and so I am planning on just having a movie marathon with William (my little brother) and eating shaped mac and cheese for New Years Eve.
2) My older sister and best friend from childhood, Jennifer, has the determination of getting married this year, she got engaged last night and so she is definitely well on her way to accomplishing that!
3) I want to go to every single country. There is not one that I do not want to go to. I would go to any of them, for almost any reason, and would go at a minutes notice if handed a plane ticket.

I have now seen this movie in theaters 3 times. Why because I love it. It is such a fun movie, not too serious, and mostly light hearted. I saw it the first time with my family the day after Thanksgiving, the second time with my dear friend, Ariana, and her family, and my sister, Bethany, and the third time with many of my PWI friends, who were here from out of town. Something interesting about me and my siblings is that we are able to almost fully memorize the lyrics to a song after hearing it only once. Bethany and I sang every word to this song the second time we saw it in the theaters.
