This day was one of the days I was most excited for, why? Because it was this day that Rach, Beks, and I got to jump off waterfalls! First of all to answer any sort of questions that are rapidly racing through your head:
1. Yes, I am crazy.
2. Yes, I would do it again, everyday if I could.
3. If you want to go jump off of them you can check their website out here: http://27charcos.com/index.php
4. I am not sure on the specific height, but according to the website some of the ones you jump off are over 30 ft tall. It was epic.
5. When you jump you keep thinking that you are going to hit the water, and you keep thinking, but it takes about 3 times as long as you think till you actually hit the water.
6. Beka jumped first, than me, and than Rachael.
7. The scariest thing was when I landed after the first jump and walked over to where Beka was and my left leg was in shock and wouldn't stop shaking, but it was still really really cool!
We woke up and drove about an hour with the windows down and music on, this was one of my favorite things about driving in the DR, and then we arrived at the 27 waterfalls. Because there hadn't been much rain recently we were only allowed to do 12-16 waterfalls, I can't remember the exact number, but it is rare that people get to do all 27. We hiked about 2-3 miles before we reached our first jump. They start you off with what I think could be the biggest, although I think it is technically the 2nd biggest, jump. Our guide was great because he didn't give us time to freeze, he got us up to the leg and said, "Jump there. Arms down. GO!" Then off we all went, one at a time, and we repeated this each time. Apparently some of the guides can be a little too flirtatious for their own good, but our guide was awesome, very respectful.
After the waterfalls, we got changed, and headed back to the house, all quite tired. Shout out to Momma Schwulst for driving us and waiting while we went! The rest of the day was spent at the house eating some dinner and watching a movie.
There aren't really anymore pictures I took on this day because I didn't have a waterproof camera, but these are some pictures of the falls I found via goodsearch (a version of google).
