I am officially in my third trimester! As far as we can tell, everything is going very well. Baby and mom are as healthy as we can be. I did take the ever dreaded glucose test today, but it wasn't too bad. I mean it was drinking a bunch of sugar at once, which never feels great, but I chugged it, got it over with, and am just waiting on the results, which all signs point towards a good outcome. I am so incredibly grateful for everything that God has already provided for us, and I know He has even more in store for us that I can't even begin to imagine. For today's post I thought I would share a few pregnancy fun facts:
1) Bagels make me extremely hungry. While I'm eating them and after I finish eating them, all I want is so much food. I have no idea why, other than the fact that a bagel does not have any protein.
2) I have yet to have any strong pregnancy cravings. I have had a few moments of wanting food, but no more unusual than normal. The only thing that I've really wanted is peaches, and I normally really want them, so that is no surprise.
3) I have terrible restless legs. I normally have pretty restless legs, but man oh man has pregnancy increased that. The only thing that helps? KT Tape. I highly recommend it, and I don't really know how it works or why, but man does it. I will have terrible fits of restless legs all day, but within minutes of putting the KT tape on I feel relief. Like I said, don't know how or why, you can watch the videos on their website, but it is amazing stuff.
4) I have not hit the nesting phase yet. They say most women hit the nesting phase during the third trimester, so it is likely that I will get there, but so far, nothing stronger than a love for being at home, but I think that is mostly because that is where my bed is.
5) TMI: I also have not had the constant urge to use the restroom yet. I feel like I use it the same amount as always, but again, most women experience this the most during the third trimester, so there is still a chance.
6) I never did experience morning sickness. A few people said they actually got it more in the second or third trimester, while a majority experience it primarily in the first or in all three. I am so SOOOOO grateful that I have some how missed this pregnancy symptom, it has definitely made keeping up with my work hours easier.
7) In case you were thinking I have bypassed all of the "typical" pregnancy symptoms, I have fully embraced the grand and glorious mood swings. I have actually tried really hard to not let me emotions get the better of me, but man is it tough. It is definitely the thing I've found most difficult about being pregnant. I pray a lot that God will help me control my attitude and mood, because I really have a hard time doing that on my own.
8) Baby fact: Amelia's feet are almost always by her head, and she kicks like she wants to be a soccer player when she grows up. Jt's favorite thing to do is make her "say hi" to him, he does this by making her kick his hand. He has even trained her to kick multiple times in response to him putting pressure on her feet. He pushes three time, which means "I love you", and she kicks back three times. Yes, it is adorable. Yes, it is a little annoying since it is really me she is kicking, but I don't mind.
There you have it, just a few fun facts about my pregnancy so far, and an extra fun fact about how baby is doing. We are so incredibly grateful to have had an uncomplicated pregnancy so far, and we continue to pray that God blesses us. Thank you guys for going on this journey with us, we are so happy and blessed to have such amazing family and friends around us as we go on this adventure.
